Can we upgrade a win10 Home PC to Win 10 Pro for no cost as this is a PC in a nonprofit group. I do see some reference to this but the reference refers to using your "PIN #" at the Microsoft store to complete the process. The PC that needs the upgrade is used by many users so was setup as a "generic pc" without using a PIN # How do we go about preforming the upgrade??

Hi @Roger Babler ARC Shop ,

Unfortunately to upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro you will need a valid product key or a digital license for Windows 10 Pro.

    For more information, see:

If you do have an old product key from Windows 7 Pro, Windows 7 Ultimate, or Windows 8/8.1 Pro, then these keys can be reused to enable an upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro

    Hi,
If you want to upgrade the Windows 10 Home to Pro for free, you need to have a Microsoft Account tied with Pro digital license, then transfer the digital license from an old PC to this “generic PC”. Below are detailed steps.
Firstly, find a windows 10 pro PC activated and tied with a Microsoft account. You can see this by
Search→input(Activation settings)→check if the activation status is activated with digital license.
Select synchronize to log in Microsoft Official Website and register your current PC in Device belonging to your account

Secondly, sign in your account with pro digital license on the “generic PC”,
Search→input(Activation settings)→toubleshooting→I have changed my PC configuration
You will choose to use the digital license from the old PC

Hope above information can help you.

    Hello,

If you opt to upgrade via Microsoft Store, you essentially need to pay the upgrade amount usually around 99.99 USD.

If you've installed Windows 10 Home installed via multiple edition media and you also have multiple edition product key, you can switch to Pro edition with generic product key:
