Teams Audio Issues

Good afternoon...

I am experiencing some odd behavior with Teams, specifically the audio feed.  I am using the PC client of Teams while connected to my company's Office 365 instance.  My company has a client that I am supporting.  We are using Teams for most of our communications, and have added their email addresses into one of our teams channels.  Here is what is happening.

If I start a Teams meeting here, the audio works fine.  If they start a teams meeting from their location, I cannot hear them.  I run the built in teams audio/visual tester, and everything runs fine.   As far as I can tell, this happens if we try audio in a private chat as well as for Teams-enables Outlook meetings.

I really am not sure what could cause this.  I am not a teams "internals" expert.  I am wondering if some general security settings are coming into play.  I would appreciate any opinions...

Jim

    Hi Jim,

According to your description, the issue only happens when the meeting is initiated from your client side. To my knowledge, Teams uses UDP ports 3478 through 3481 and TCP ports 443 for audio, video and desktop sharing. So it's best to make sure all the ports are opened and listening in both sides when in meeting.

Besides, when in a meeting, please temporarily disable the firewall and antivirus software for both sides to check if it helps. Also, if you or the client side use VPN, please close it and check if it makes any difference.

    Regards,

    Marvin

hello, Marvin.  I have a meeting with the client on-site on Thursday the 14th and will ask them to verify their set up.
