Will Windows 11 continue to support SAPI?

The reason that I ask is that I went to this link after searching on Google: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/search.aspx?q=speech+recognition&first=1
The first two links (for Speech Platform 11 Runtime and supported languages) result in removed content. I contacted MS support through chat and they had told me that the files were being moved due to an upcoming update. I inquired if this had to do with Windows 11 and the agent said that it was. I asked if SAPI support would be provided in Windows 11 and they said I should inquire here.

Also, where and when can one still access the Speech Platform 11 Runtime and languages?

This question cannot be answered by anyone outside of Microsoft until they choose to tell us what they are teasing us with. People within Microsoft will not tell us until Microsoft makes an official announcement. Until then any answers would only be speculation and might mislead you into making bad decisions.

Hi @Gary Magenheimer ,

Since there is no official information about the new Windows operating system yet and since it has not been yet released, your best option is to be patient and wait until it is released and only then will you be able to receive more information about the support of SAPI.

I guess the real concern is that the Speech Platform 11 Runtime and language files have been removed. Would you or anybody happen to know of an official Microsoft site where these can still be acquired? According to the agent, the files were being relocated due to an upcoming update (which lead to the whole Windows 11 discussion). The hope would be that the files would be relocated before being removed, as Windows 10 still requires these for certain applications to work.

Since the downloads have been removed from the official Microsoft websites, your only option is to obtain it from a third-party site (such as Softpedia) or from someone who may still have it to share.

I do know where to find the files - I just need assurance that these can still be acquired from an official source (such as MS Download Center) in the future, as they've been available for Windows 10 (and going back to Vista or even possibly earlier).

How would one get official confirmation of the future of these features?

The only ones that can answer that is Microsoft I'm afraid, you can always create a support request over here:

(Although the documentation has not been updated for about 2 years)
