Hi,

My son is using MS Teams for school this year on his new Samsung Chrome Book. We can't figure out how to enable the chat function or how to see all participants when the teacher is displaying a presentation. Could you please advise?

Thanks,

Cathy

    Hello Cathy,

When you enable new meeting experience, the meeting will open in a separate window and in that way, you can still fully use the Teams app and easily chat anyone.

    I hope this helps.
    Thank you

Thanks, Vjcaca. Do you happen to have a solution for the chat function issue?

    Hello Cathy,

My name is Veejay, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you and I'll be glad to help you.

If you want to see participants video, you need to enable "Turn on new meeting experience" on Teams.

    1. At the top right of your app, click on your picture > Settings.
    2. Under General, enable " Turn on new meeting experience (New meetings and calls will open in separate windows. Requires restarting Teams.)"
    3. Restart Microsoft Teams by right clicking on the icon > Quit then start again.

When a new meeting started, you can click on More options (...) then select Large Gallery View to see participants. You can also see there the meeting chat options.

Note: This view is available when there are 10 or more attendees who are sharing video.
