Adding guests to a team

I am trying to add an external guest to a team. The organization is set up to accept guests, the team is set to public, I am set up as an owner of the team, but when entering the e-mail address it still comes up as 'we cannot find any matches' type message. Guests have been added in the past, so what on earth is wrong?

    Hi, Lloyd,

My name is Didi. I'm happy to help you today.

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. This also happens to me when I try to add guests to my team. It eventually works after multiple attempts.

Could you please check though if the issue also occurs in the web app? On your desktop, please sign in to https://teams.microsoft.com/ using Chrome or Edge browser and see if there's any difference.

You could also go to the Azure Active Directory, add the guest then add them to a group. Please refer to the documentation for the procedure.

    Best regards,

Thanks for your continued help. I am not the IT guy so I do not know for sure, but they assure me everything is set up as it should be. Although setting titles are not as described in the answer. Also, for that answer the person could at least create some new ones, I cannot create any external guests only add existing ones. Any further suggestions greatly welcomed.

Hello Lloyd. You can configure Azure AD business-to-business settings in the Azure portal. With your admin account. Go to Azure Active Directory > Users > User settings, under External users, select Manage external collaboration settings. On the External collaboration settings page, choose the policies you want to enable.

Also, you configure O365 Groups In the Microsoft 365 admin center and go to Settings > Services & Add-ins > Office 365 Groups. Make sure Let group members outside the organization access group content is set to On. If this setting is turned off, guests won't be able to access any group content. Make sure Let group owners add people outside the organization to groups is set to On. If this setting is turned off,

Team owners won't be able to add new guests. At a minimum, this setting must be On to support guest access.

It can take up to 24 hours for the above changes to take effect in Office 365.

    Hey Sergio,

                 Thanks for your assistance.

1: I don't know what you mean by 'temporarily' add. I cannot add - temporarily or otherwise. I have a list of about 20 e-mail address, all come up with no match rather than letting me just add. However, I can add existing guests that have already been set up as a match for those does come up.

    1. None of the other owners are able to add either.

    Thanks,

    Lloyd

Hi, I'm Sergio, it's a pleasure to help you.

Please, to isolate the problem, answer me:

    1. What happen if you try to add temporarily other guest with other address?
    2. What happen if other team owner try to add the same guest?

    Greetings.
