Microsoft Teams window deepfries

I'm having some issues with my Teams app which I'm fairly certain are related to hardware acceleration. The first one I noticed was that the application is quite laggy in terms of frame rate, which is especially noticeable on my 165Hz display. The second thing I noticed was text becoming blurry; it returned to normal when I highlighted it and then blurred again afterwards. Shortly after that, when moving the window around, a bigger visual bug appeared, which is shown in the attached screenshot. I found instructions for disabling hardware acceleration in Teams online, however they directed me to the General settings tab of Teams where there's supposed to be some checkboxes, however in my app there's only the "Auto-start Teams" box.

Edit: I've found that starting Teams as administrator fixes the issue, some information on why or how to fix it in non-admin mode would still be appreciated though.

    Thanks for your answer,

unfortunately, my AppData\Roaming\Microsoft folder does not contain a folder called "Teams", only one called "msteams", and deleting that one did not prompt me to sign in again upon starting Teams, so apparently it is not the same kind of folder.

Also, as mentioned in my original post, the General settings tab in my Teams application does not contain most of the elements that should be there.

    Hello, Tom

I am Igor and I will be glad to help you with this question :)

Please try to clear cache from the Teams app

Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.

After that restart and sign in to Teams and follow

    In Teams, click your icon/photo.

    Choose Settings.

In Settings, in tab general, enable Disable GPU hardware acceleration.

While you're here, also disable Register Teams as the chat app for Office…

Restart Teams. Please note that Teams runs in the background.

Let me know if that helps
