Deleted assignment on Microsoft Teams

I assigned an assignment on Microsoft Teams but then deleted it. However, the deleted assignment is still showing up in my Insights data. This is extremely irritating as it is affecting the handed in numbers and engagement levels.

Also, students that have submitted the work for other assignments, Insights is saying they haven’t. Can anyone please help?

    Hi CharlieHulme,

Please be advised that when you delete a team, it will be retained for 30 days by design. This 30-day period is called "soft-delete" because you can restore the group associated with Team.

So, until the team gets deleted past 30 days, it will show up in your insight report.

Nevertheless, if you want to delete Teams permanently and remove them from Insight app report, please contact your IT administrator to so from the backend:

    For more, see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams...

Given the situation, If you have any suggestion on this, please send your feedback to Microsoft product group by submitting your suggestion to Microsoft Teams UserVoice here:

    Regards

    Nik

    Hi Nik,

The Insights app has been linked to my class for quite some time, so this is not the problem. Also, regarding the app needing 24 hours to update, it has been longer than that.

The deleted assignment is still showing up in my Insights data, making the numbers inaccurate. Also, students that have submitted the work for other assignments, Insights is saying they have not.

    Hopefully you can help.

    Regards,

    CharlieHulme

    Hi CharlieHulme,

I'm Nik, an independent advisor here to assist you with this issue.

Please be advised that the Insight app takes up to 24 hours to reflect the active class data, and it isn't real-time.

Newer classes where you have added the app won't reflect a lot of data initially, but as your class is more active in Teams, you'll see more data in Insights.

If you’ve added the Insight app to the active class recently, you will see Insight app data only from old class activity. It'll not show much data from the new class until past some active days.

    For more, see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/educ...

    Regards

    Nik
