MS Teams planner - copy function with plan unlinked to each other

MS teams question - Need to know how to unlink a plan which is copied from another plan in different channel within same team or even on different tabs within same channel.

I created a template plan and copied the same to different channels for different locations for ERP rollout project. Though the tasks and timelines are same, the resources are different. So I don't need these planned linked. When I do an assignment in one channel, the same reflects in all others; when someone marks a task complete in one it shows as done in all others.

Please suggest how to copy plan to different channels without the plans liked.

Though this says adding plan to multiple tabs doesn’t create a copy; still see that these are created as linked plan ☹.

Thanks for getting back Mac, please share the article you are talking about once more!

    1. If we don’t use the copy function and create separate plan on different channels they work independently. But when we copy from an existing plan the new plan is linked to the initial plan / template and any updates flow across which defeats the purpose. Need to know how to de-link such plans while / after copying.

    1. When we use the copy function using teams on the web, there is no feature to copy the assignments as well. Also we can’t chose the channel where we need the plan copied. Also request you to share the link with instruction which shows how to see such plans created on teams (non-web version).

    Thanks,

    Hi Prabhat,

    Greetings.

Thank you for raising your concern in this community.

Normally the steps are as mentioned in the article.

Could you please confirm the situation if you don't use the copy function?

Moreover, do you face the same situation when using teams on the web?

I will be waiting for your reply for further assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Mac
