Error when "Return" students' assignment in Teams

Question

When using Teams Classroom, in a class for 2 assignments about 15 students work, I could not "return" their assignment back to them after marking with the rubric, of those 15 probably 5 were the same student for both assignments.

Teams display an error that says "Submission was not returned, try again"

Hi Nemanja,

Thanks for your suggestion, I haven't had much luck with generating theses Teams related logs in the past.

I think what I'll do instead is to bring it to the attention of our global admin and see if he can open up a ticket with Microsoft for further troubleshooting. I'll reply to your private message with the details of that finding then.

Hi Nemanja,

Yes, I was grading the students one-by-one and the assignment was only successfully returned to some students and not all.

For those students where I could not return their assignment using the Teams desktop, I then tried returning their work and further attempted:

• Using the web app in different browsers
• Tried on different devices
• Added a colleague an owner to my Team classroom

All of which got me the same unsuccessful result and error message. All students were able to submit their assignments no problem, but for those students where I could not return their work, I have had success in returning their other assignments previously.

Please try to grade and return students one by one and check whether you can complete the action till the end. 

If you still face the issue with all or some of the students, please try to repeat the steps from both Teams desktop and Web app - https://teams.microsoft.com/.

Please let me know about the results so we can continue with the troubleshooting.
