During a meeting on the desktop teams app, all my other system sounds are getting muted. Sounds on chrome, music apps, videos etc. are muted.

Yep, (1) is exactly as you describe already.

Anв still, (2) is exactly where the issue presents itself: when I join an MS teams meeting, all other apps that produce sounds at the moment gets muted in the volume mixer, and I have to un-mute them manually.

I've tried all the MS teams options related to sound devices, volume, etc. The issue happens regardless of anything I change there.

neither the 1st option workes nor the 2nd option....while taking meetings on teams, the sound of teams remains the same but the sound of chrome , youtube , vlc player , instagram (basically everything other than teams meeting) gets off..i have tried so many options but still its not working

    Hello S,

My name is Veejay, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you and I'll be glad to help you.

Can you try checking on the sound settings:

    (1) Right click on the Volume Icon at the bottom of the Desktop > Sounds

A new window will open then go to Communications Tab > Select Do Nothing.

    Hit Apply then OK.

    (2) Checking the Volume Mixer

Right click on the Volume Icon at the bottom of the desktop > Open Volume Mixer

Check on the other apps volume.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concern.

    Thank you
