Microsoft Teams Notifications

We are using Teams and I use a headset off and on all day. My Notifications are turned on to All and my audio devices is my headset, speaker is my headset, microphone is my headset and I have my secondary ringer as my laptop speakers.

The only time I hear any sounds notifications is when I'm using my headset. Is there a way to set it up so that if my headset is not being used it will be audible through my laptop?

My headset is a Plantronics D100.

Thank you!

    Hi ConnieThomson,

I'm Ed, a fellow customer like you & an Independent Advisor.

Thank you for reaching out regarding this. Let me assist you. I have to say this is by design.

I have a similar headset where you have to plug in an adapter to the computer, then there is this headphone that you can switch off and on. What happens is, while your headpiece is switched off, your computer won't be able to recognize that is switched off. Instead, it assumes that your headphone is still turned on coz the adapter is still plugged in.

If you notice when you switch off your headphone, in the sound setting in your system tray, the name of your headset still appears. If you really want your computer speaker to be the main audio device when not using the headset, you have to unplug the adapter too.

Let me know how it goes.

    Sincerely,

    Edmund A.
