Hello,

We recently enabled 'guest access' for our MS Teams. We had an issue where when a user tried to add a 'guest user' they received the following error:

The end user did receive the invite however when they tried to join the group, they got a message that the "team" was restricted. After researching this error, I was able to find an article that suggested removing this user from AAD, waiting a while, then trying to re-add them using the "add member" in teams again. However when I removed them from AAD, and tried to re-add them, I got this error:

Now, when I go to select them from the "suggested" user down down list, I continue to get the error "we ran into an issue. please try again later" or "This person has been added but it might take a while for them to show up in your member list". I have searched online and have been unable to find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello philt1980,

Thanks for your detailed post here.

From your description, the guest cannot be added into your team. Given this situation, I suggest you go to Microsoft Teams admin center and add the guest into your team to see if the guest can be added. The premise is that the guest is already included in your Azure AD user list.

Besides, the owner can also try sign into myapps portal and select Groups, then find the group you want to add guests into and add the guest in that page.

If you still get the error, to further assist you, please reproduce the problem and collect the Debug logs, then provide it to me via Private Message for further analysis.

    Thanks for your time.

    Regards,

    Seven
