Teams does not launch from browser

Hi, when I try to join a meeting in Outlook, it sends me to the page

Experience the best of Teams meetings with the desktop app

Download the Windows App / Join on the Web instead

Launch it now

I click on Launch it now, and a box appears "This site is trying to open URL:msteams, https://teams.microsoft.com wants to open this application."

with Open and Cancel buttons

When I click on Open, the box disappears but nothing else happens, nada, Teams sits there staring at me blankly. If Teams is not running it is not launched. If I am invited to a meeting within teams I can accept and join, no problem, or if I click on Join within the teams app it works fine.

Is my file association screwed up?

    Hello Adrian_mps,

According to your description, I did the same test on my side. I join the Teams meeting via Outlook, and the it is redirected to a website you mentioned. If my Teams is running, it will automatically start Teams and let me join the meeting. If Teams is not running, I click the Launch it now, and then it still launch Teams and won't show me the box you said. Since I use Microsoft Edge as the default browser, you can also try Microsoft Edge to launch Teams.

As a workaround, if you can see the Calendar icon on the left navigation pane in Teams, you can use join the Teams meeting by clicking the meeting in Teams Calendar directly.

If you need further assistance, please share the screenshot about every step with me to make me more aware of your problem. Besides, please double check whether the accounts you signed in are the same in Teams and Outlook.

    Regards,

    Seven
