max_reload_exceeded error

I cannot sign in to the Teams App on my laptop.  Mobile app is fine and so is Teams web.

This is the error message:

We're sorry—we've run into an issue.

Restart

If that doesn't work, try signing out and back in.

I see others have posted with a similar problem all over the web but none of the solutions have worked for me.

I have a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription and I am a guest member of several Business Teams

Hi BruceNewsom,

Based on the error message, the issue might be related to multi-time authentication, may I know if your account is authenticated via username and password? Or through other method? You may contact network admin to check if the name resolution to your company’s ADFS URL is failed.

If the name resolution is ok, then to exclude the influence of credential cache and loading cache files, I recommend you try:

  1. Go to Credential Manager > Windows Credentials to clear the credential records that are related to Microsoft Teams.
  2. Clear loading cache files of Microsoft Teams.

a. Exit Teams.

b. Go to File Explorer, paste “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams” in location box and press Enter key.

c. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage” location.

d. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache” location.

e. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\databases” location.

f. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\GPUcache” location.

g. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\IndexedDB” location.

h. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage” location.

i. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\tmp” location.

j. Restart Teams and login your account.

If issue persists, I’d like to confirm if your Teams client is up to date, could you share it with me? Click Avatar > About > Version. Besides, if you add another account to your Microsoft Teams client, if the same phenomenon appears.

Kind Regards,

Betty

I also have this problem but when I try to find the files suggested in Credentials or Explorer none appear.
