Breakout Room problem

Has anyone experienced this issue using breakout rooms please. When the participants are put into a breakout room they can't see anything other than a black screen, they can't hear anything and don't have access to video, microphone, chat etc. I can see them and hear them. Thanks in advance

We also have the exact same black screen issue with Breakout Rooms. From what we can see it seems to be limited to 'guests' that join a meeting via a browser (We have tried latest version of MS Edge as well as Firefox).

The instructions posted here by Didi suggesting that we should to clear the Teams Cache will not resolve this as it is happening when joining from the browser - which the majority of Guests will do.

The meeting attendees from within the organization that are in a breakout room with the Guests can see the camera and audio from the Guests.

Prior to the Breakout Rooms being opened the Guests have no issues in the Teams meeting within the Browser - they can see all camera, audio, chat, screen sharing etc.

    This is a repeatable issue.

We've been working with Premier support for a few weeks to try and capture the issue to get to the bottom of it. We were able to replicate it multiple times with the logs enabled but just last week we tried again (to capture more logs for premier support) and the issue resolved by itself from one week to the next. We still don't know why it occurred in the first place or why it suddenly resolved by itself.

Strangely we weren't able to replicate this with any other meeting hosts in our organization. It seemed to only be limited to a single user/host who was organizing these particular meetings. There wasn't anything unusual with how the meeting was being set up either.

I am experiencing this issue as well, and seeing many other threads saying the same, it's clear this isn't a one time issue. As you said, it only affects those who join via browser as a guest. I am not sure how to fix this.

    Hi, Jill,

My name is Didi. I'm happy to help you today.

Sorry to hear about this issue. They may try clearing the Teams cache using the instructions for their device in the link below and see if there's any difference.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams...

If it still fails, and they're on Windows, they could try running the MS Team app in compatibility mode using the steps below.

    1. Right-click the MS Team icon on the taskbar then select Quit.
    2. Then, right-click the MS Team icon on the desktop > select Properties.
    3. Under the compatibility tab, check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" option then select Windows 8 from the dropdown list.
    4. Click 'Apply'

    Best regards,
