Error while uploading Assignments in teams .

Question

Dear sir,

I am having a lot of trouble as I am not able to upload assignments in teams web version. Our teachers upload the assignment to be done and we attach our files in the "Add work" option.

1. I am not able to see any assignment work. The reference material mentioned in it does not open. It shows 'Sorry. something went wrong." when I click on it to open it.

=> It does not open through any of these means- "Open in teams ", "Open Online", "download'.

when I have done the assignment by taking it from other students in whom it had opened.

2. It shows error while uploading.No type of file gets uploads the same error-"There was an error uploading this file, please try again".
3. I can't share screenshots of the errors I have taken as they are also not getting uploaded here.

Things I have tried-

1. I have tried signing in and out multiple times.

2.Tried opening in other browsers .

3.Tried from other devices,which works occasionally. But that won't help me.

Kindly help me resolve this issue at the earliest as I have my exams in 2 days and I if am unable to upload. I will have to suffer a lot. This issue is being faced by a lot of my classmates. I would be highly obliged if you do the needful.

Hey Nik,

I will try to contact the school for these reasons as they are our IT administrator. I agree with you that the assignment problem is being faced by many.

Firstly, I would suggest you follow the below basic troubleshooting to avoid common issues due to app cache:

1. Manually restart the app by right-clicking the icon in your dock (Mac) or taskbar (Windows) and selecting Quit. After you quit, click the app icon to open it again.
2. Go to File Explorer, delete any of the files in the following locations:
   • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\application cache\cache
   • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage
   • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\databases
   • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\cache
   • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\gpucache
   • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\Indexeddb
   • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage
   • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\tmp

Besides, you can also go to Teams Web App https//teams.microsoft.com and check whether you can access your assignments and upload works from web app. It will help to isolate issue with client app.

Hey Nik,

I have windows 7 in this device. The other device also has windows 7. There may be some version difference, of which I am not fully aware.

It used get uploaded easily a month ago when other assignments were given, but suddenly I don't know how this error and problems came .Just days before my exams.

Quick question, may I know what operating system do you use on your device? I understand that sometimes you manage to upload files using another device, may I know what configuration does it has?

Hey Nik,

Thank you for trying to help me, but I am using the web app of teams only. I am sorry I forgot to mention that. I would also like to add that,the upload does happen sometimes when I try with other laptop ,that does not help as I need to get it uploaded from my device on regular basis , therefore I am facing a problem.
