Hi Becca - Same issue here. I saw another post about this in the last 5 mins too. Seems to be an issue on Teams end and not ours - and everyone uses Excel so I'm hoping they're working on this right now!
Excel File Not Opening With Error
I have an excel file that won't open, it comes up with this error! I've tried downloading it and reuploading and I've tried to open it in the online browser. Any suggestions on how i can fix it?

2021-11-02T16:24:39+00:00 Hi Becca
My name is Daniel. I will be more than happy to assist you.
I'm not sure if it's an intermittent issue or not I've seen other users experience the same issue lately https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/subject/for...
What happens when you download the files to the local computer then open in from there?

2021-11-02T16:37:55+00:00 Hi Daniel - I am having the same issue . We use an excel doc to track our work in Teams but we do not download it because the most updated doc always has to be available for any of us to view it . So we update the doc directly in Teams (if that makes sense?). Also, we have a different version of Excel on our laptops as opposed to the version Teams uses (I think it's 365 on Teams) so that creates a formatting headache if we download Excel files from teams to update and then re-upload.
TL; DR = Downloading won't work for our group :(
I'm hoping that Microsoft is working on this issue as we speak!

Please follow these steps below:
Step 1: Sync your Team files to your local computer.
The following article explains how to sync MS Team files via the OneDrive desktop app. https://www.onmsft.com/how-to/how-to-best-sync-...
Step 2: Open the excel files from the OneDrive folder on your local computer.
Step 3: (Optional) Un-sync Team files from your PC:
This is optional, If you no longer need to sync Team files to your computer then you can follow these steps below to un-sync files:
- Right-click the blue cloud icon at the taskbar > settings > account tab >Stop sync > select unlink account
- However, if you only don’t want to sync a certain folder then you can select account tab > choose folders > uncheck folders you don’t need > click Ok
That said, I do believe this issue needs to be investigated furthermore by the MS Team engineering team so they can determine the best next steps for this particular issue.
I highly suggest you report this issue, If this is a bug normally they will release fixes but as a community advisor, I can't guarantee that for you since I don't work for Microsoft.
