Microsoft Teams Breakout Room Functionality

Hello, I am wondering about the Microsft Teams breakout room functionality.

I have a few questions that need to be addressed.

If people are automatically assigned to groups, is there a way to change which group they’re in? Or do you have to manually assign everyone in order to have that level of control? Is there also a way to remove them from a group altogether? Is there a way to allow a person to bounce from room to room (i.e. an instructor)?

Thank you for your help.

    Hi

My name is Daniel. I am an Independent Advisor.

"If people are automatically assigned to groups, is there a way to change which group they’re in? Or do you have to manually assign everyone in order to have that level of control?" yes you need to assign them manually.

"Is there also a way to remove them from a group altogether?" The easier way to remove participants is by using the recreate breakout room (circular icon) but makes sure the room has been closed first. (see screenshot below)

"Is there a way to allow a person to bounce from room to room (i.e. an instructor)?" As of today, only the meeting organizer can do that but soon MS Team will release a feature that enables you to assign someone as the breakout room manager.
