Tab key during screen sharing

Hi Teams community,

since some days, we experience an issue with Teams screen sharing.

Following scenario:

I am remote-controlling the device that is sharing the screen with my Teams desktop client (version 1.4.00.32771 (64bit)).

Now I want to press the "TAB" key to jump into the next column/text field on the remote device.

When pressing "TAB", the cursor jumps to the next element on the remote machine, but so does also the focus on my own machine, which puts a white rectangle around my screen sharing window.

As the screen sharing itself does not have the focus any more, I can no longer control the remote device.

To fix this, I always need to click into the screen share to be able to continue with the remote control.

Is anyone else experiencing this? It makes using remote control during a screen sharing session very annoying, especially if you need to press TAB multiple times.
Thank you!

We are having the exact same issue. It's extremely annoying. As software developers, we use the TAB key all the time. The issue started about 2 months ago.

I have a working solution/work around that let's you type out a tab key through teams.

The trick is to use Alt + Numpad 0 and Numpad 9 which inserts an ASCII tab keycode without actually pressing the tab key. I've create a simple AutoHotKey script that make it so Alt + Numpad 0 and Numpad 9 is typed instead of Tab whenever using "Teams.exe".

(Github link to compiled version and source code)

    ENJOY!

This is still happening with version 1.5.00.8070 (64-bit).

It makes testing web page accessibility remotely nearly impossible.

Yes us too. Makes it impossible to help developers with powershell and any other tool that expects tab auto-complete.

I have left feedback in the app several weeks ago and still nothing has changed

Please confirm this will be fixed ASAP otherwise we will be forced to move to alternative tools

Maybe it would help if we all hit the up-vote button for that issue in MS feedback forums to get more importance on that issue
