Teams Mac - Microphone access

Hi - I can't use the mic on my Mac with Teams.

I believe the problem is to do with permissions in 'Security and Privacy'. 

I understand that I should be able to check Teams in the Microphone tab of Security and Privacy, but the app doesn't appear there.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times, both the Teams app alone and the whole Office suite.

Teams never asks for permission to access the microphone, this seems to be the route of the problem.

Any help appreciated.

    Hi Andy,

    Thanks for coming back to us. Please also make sure the **Media (Camera, microphone, speakers)**button via your profile button on the top right -> settings- > permissionsin Teams is checked:

    Meanwhile, does Teams listed under Cameratab of Security and Privacy? If the problem persists, you can also try to upgrade your Mac OS version to see if it can help.

    I have also uninstalled and reinstalled just MS Teams again - the problem is not resolved.

    Hi

    I am using Teams version 1.00.304460.

    Mac OS is version 10.15.3.

    Hi Andy,

    Thanks for posting in our forum. 

    I check the microphone settings under Security and Privacy, and Teams (Teams Version 1.3.00.362.) listed there on my Mac. May I know what version of your Teams and Mac OS? Please kindly provide us so that we can test at our side.

    Given this situation, it is more likely related to one specific device. I understand that you have already reinstall Teams and Office suites several times with no luck. However, the best way to let app shows under Security and Privacy is reinstall. I suggest you try to uninstall Teams and your Office suite first, reboot your Mac, then try to reinstall Teams to see how it goes.

    Note: Please back up your data before reinstalling to prevent data loss.
