Virtual BackGrounds Missing after Re-Install

Question

Hi,

I recently uninstalled the teams app and re-installed on my WIndows 10 laptop.

The option to choose virtual backgrounds got replaced by blur my background and now, I can't choose a virtual background.

Can you please help me?

The same laptop used to support virtual backgrounds.

I got the solution.

When using teams from the browser, on the bottom left there is a download button.

When you download from there, the background effects are missing.

But when you download from the the official download page, the option re-appears.

That is Excellent! Seems like a bug since it should download the same version as well. But I am glad that the issue is already resolved.

Thank you for your response. I found a thread that provides a resolution to the missing "Show Background Effects" option.

"You have just to copy:

desktop-config.json

settings.json

storage.json

You can proceed as follows:

Close MS Teams completely

Copy the above listed files from a machine of someone who has the feature working (%Appdata%\Microsoft\Teams or C:\Users<userid>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams)

Paste the copied files in your %AppData%\Microsoft\Teams and replace the existing files

Start MS Teams and wait until you got an error message where you can click on "Sign out"

Log-in with your email address"
