Teams alias

We would like to add MS teams for our 3 employees working in UK, but we have our emails on our main company server at our HQ in South Korea. This means our HQ team isn't willing to change email hosting & server. Could we create aliases and team channel? Teams is the preferred communications medium for most of our customers in UK and EU.

We could set up some email aliases and divert rules for our UK staff and send these messages into new M365 accounts in the UK.

As we are only a small team, I don't think it is cost-effective for us to set up MS exchange locally. M365 looks more attractive to us.

We already have MS Office licences installed on our laptops that were purchased, set up and administered by our HQ IT team in South Korea.

Can we add M365 Teams on top of these installations?

Many Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul, my name is Jose, a Teams user like you. I'll be glad to help you today.

Alias can only be created for email service. For Teams this is not allowed. If you are not allowed to create the required accounts under the head quarters domain for your UK employees, you will need to use a different domain and buy 3 Microsoft 365 basic subscription. This subscription does not includes Office for Desktop.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
