Everyone's audio is distorted

Hi, I'm a student using Microsoft Teams for my online classes and I am unable to hear my teachers and classmates conversing. This problem has risen only today as I have been using Microsoft Teams for the past month with no such issue. The first two periods had perfect audio but after that when I joined a meeting/call for the next class, my teacher's audio was distorted, as if he was talking through a voice changer that would make the audio... chunky? I'm not sure how to describe it but it made it really hard to comprehend him.

But the problem isn't only with his audio, but everyone else. This makes me think that it's a problem on my side since everybody else is attending the classes just fine. I tried leaving and rejoining the call many times but to no avail. Sometimes, very rarely, the audio would be clear but only for a few seconds before returning to its distorted state. I could not find any articles to help me fix this problem.

Please help me as soon as you can as I need it urgently for my classes.

Awaiting your esteemed response,

Anaas~

Thank you so much for your early response! I shall try the methods you listed and let you know how it goes. Unfortunately, I can only test out the audio once class commences tomorrow so I hope you can forgive my tardy response :)

    Hi

My name is Daniel. I am an Independent Advisor.

If the meeting is urgent I suggest you use MS Team online instead because troubleshooting will take some time. As per my experience using helping others uses not his forum, using MS Team online via a web browser can be less problematic in regards to the audio issues.

    Please follow these steps below:

    1. Please go to your computer then open your chrome or edge browser as recommended browsers to access MS Teams online.
    2. Please go to MS Teams online https://teams.microsoft.com
    3. Then try to log in.
    4. Try to join a meeting.

However, Once you have free time you can come back later for a troubleshooting session. In that case, please reset the MS Team app and see how it goes.

Please visit the following article and refer to the section, under the "macOS: Clear Teams Cache" section.
