Duplicating Section Groups in OneNote2016

How on earth do you go about duplicating 'Section Groups' in Content Library and all sub folders in One Note 2016. It seems you cannot (apart from the lowest level section group).

So creating a Class OneNote with 6 1/2 terms, with 7 weeks or so in each term and 5 days in each week and then 6 pages on each day is an absolute MAMOUTH task and one that must be easier!!

Any help please?

    Thank you for your reply.

As a new user to Microsoft Teams this seems like basic functionality is missing? In order to produce a Teams Structure for a Year Group Class in a school I had to create each Section Group separately and then painstakingly copy each day of the week section into all of the weeks of the terms.

After spending about two hours producing the desired template I then set about creating a new Class Notebook in a test class by using the one I had created as a template. This highlights another major flaw in the process. When creating a Class Notebook from a template you have to drill down through each section group and until you reach the lowest level - the sections.

Then you need select each of these sections to copy, however the maximum amount of sections you can copy is 30 so with 5 days of the week and 6 half terms that leaves 180 that I could not copy and will have to be created again from within the One Note App!!!

This is MS Teams for Education and every school has a similar academic year?

I'll post up in the Voice section and see what comes about. In the meantime my attempt at saving teachers a whole lot of extra work seems to have failed miserably.

    Hi Bill,

    Thanks for choosing Microsoft products.

From your description, we kindly assume your concern is to copy section group in OneNote 2016. May we know does our assumption correct?

Per our experience and test, we found it’s a feature limitation now. As the screenshot shown below, it’s available to move or copy a section but unavailable to copy a new section group.
