The "include system audio" box in Microsoft Teams has disappeared.  How do I include audio?  Why does Microsoft not make the default to include system audio?

    Hi Bacia,

Thank you for querying in our forum. For the situation you encountered, I do understand the inconvenience it has made and apologize for it.

According to the description, you cannot see this option in Teams, given this situation, we found someone encountered the similar situation as yours, and someone solved this problem via doing a video call, and after the first video call, this feature appeared. You can refer to this thread: include system audio disappeared to check if they can help you.

If the problem still persists, could you provide the version of your Teams? And may I know if all colleagues have the same problem?

    Best Regards,

    Sukie

Sukie - I also have the same question.  My company uses Windows computers and we always had the ability to share audio through a Team meeting.  It looks like that option is no longer available when sharing a video.

Any help getting that option back would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi Carol,

Thank you for your message in this forum. We understand the inconvenience caused by it. We’re glad to provide help.

According to your description, it seems that you cannot see Include system audio in Microsoft Teams.

If so, may I know if you are using Teams in Windows? If not, we’re afraid that you may not use this feature, for now, we only support this feature on Windows devices.

If you are using Teams in Windows, you can join the meeting > then you can click Share in your Meeting control > then you can choose to select Include system audio. For more details, you can refer to this article: Share system audio in a Teams meeting.

For your concerns that you want Microsoft to make the default to include system audio, we’re sorry that it doesn’t meet your requirement, I do understand the inconvenience it has made and apologize for it. We understand the situation and you make a great point. To address your concern about the situation, we’d suggest you vote Make “include system audio” feature the default setting. This is the best platform to let us hear from you and make our products and services better for you and others.

If the problem still persists after trying the suggestion above, to better understand your situation, could you provide the information below?

    1. Could you provide the version of your Teams? You can click your avatar in your Teams > About > Version and provide the screenshot of your Teams.
    2. May I know if you are using Windows or Mac OS?
    3. May I know when this problem occurs? Could you see this feature before?

    Thank you for your understanding!

    Best Regards,

    Sukie
