Hi, 

I am trying to open my Teams Whiteboard in the Whiteboard Desktop App to use the additional Kanban Template but whenever I open the app from Teams, I get an error message stating that I do not have an internet connection. I do have an internet connection as Teams and my documents are saving automatically to my one drive. Please advise what the problem could be as I really need the functionality on the Desktop App.

From my test and further research, this is an expected outcome that Teams will not integrate with Microsoft Whiteboard desktop app.  Whiteboard integration in Microsoft Teams meetings is powered by Whiteboard for the web (https://whiteboard.microsoft.com/), which lets participants of Teams meetings draw, sketch, and write together on a shared digital canvas. Standalone Whiteboard app is not an option for Teams. We're sorry for the inconvenience at this time.
