Hello , I've not used much of the class Teams template. Someone has created a class Teams in my tenant and have tried to add an external user as a Teacher to the Teams... but on doing this the external user just defaults to 'student'. Is this always the case when trying to add external users as teachers in a class Teams?

As Teams for Education needs school account, we cannot request such tenant. So, it is hard for us to verify this behavior for you now.

I get the answer - external user cannot be added as a teacher in class team. This is by design.
Would you be bale to add an external user as a teacher if you changed their license on your tenant? look at the replies in this thread

As you know, we have no Teams for Education environment. So, it is hard for us to verify this scenario for you.
