MS Teams window sharing does not work with Microsoft Edge browser windows

Hi

I'm observing an issue with sharing single Edge browser windows during an MS Teams meeting.

When selecting an Edge window for sharing, MS Teams switches to presenting mode as usual, but nothing is shown to the other participants in the call. Also, the red bordered sharing frame is not set to fit the browser window - it appears somewhere near the upper left corner of my screen (see screenshot below). Sharing of the entire screen or any other window (tested with Firefox, Visual Studio, Terminal, Outlook, Explorer, ...) works just fine.

So I'd presume a problem detecting the browser window position and/or dimensions.

Is there a known solution to this problem?

I'm working on a Windows 10 (Version 20H2 19042.685) desktop pc with MS Teams 1.3.00.28779 (64 bit).

Thanks & best regards,

olivier

    Hi Regie S

    Thanks for the quick response.

Clearing the cache and restarting Teams did not help.

I must add: the issue occurs on two different devices (Laptop and PC, same setup / versions of Windows 10 and Teams). On the laptop, the issue started occurring after upgrading Windows 10 20H2 (shortly after it was released) if I recall correctly. I thought that I had just messed up the setup... But the PC is new, I've just finished a clean install. And now the issue occurs as well ...

Could it be related to some cloud-synchronized config, Teams or Edge? I'm using the same Microsoft account on both devices...

    thanks and best regards,

    olivier
