Issues with returning assignments

Question

Hello,

I assigned an assignment to my students, I graded it, and I returned the grades to all of my students.  Each time I return to my list of assignments under the assignments tab of the Team, that one particular assignment shows up as 13/14 returned.  When I click it to grade the remaining 1, it says all grades have been returned.

For some reason, the fully graded/returned assignment it is not updating to be fully graded.  It keeps appearing in my "Assigned" list, with 13/14 returned rather than moving to the "Returned" list.

After I click on it (to try to return the phantom grade) and then close again, the assignment then moves to the "Returned" list (temporarily).  However, each time I leave the Assignments tab and return, the assignment is back in the "Assigned" list with 13/14 returned.

How can I have the assignment move to the "Returned" list, permanently?  I assigned 6 others assignments that have been graded and returned and did not have this issue.

Thank you for the suggestion.  I will see if students can turn it in again.  If not, I will live with it - no biggie.

Thanks for sharing updates with us. We totally understand after turn in assignment it will not move to graded/returned section. I appreciate that you spent your precious time doing those tests and shared the results with us. I do understand the inconvenience it has made and apologize for it.

I have tested from my side and seems I cannot reproduce issue as you encounter.  Based on my test student have the chance to “turn in again”. So, if student “turn in again” it Maybe that’s the cause why the work/assignment goes back from “graded/returned” section. I did a test and when I "turn in again" the work/assignment goes back to “graded/returned” section to assignment.  

I suggest you if possible, please try to create new class teams and see the outcomes it will help for us to narrow down your issue.

Thank you for the reply.  The issue occurs in the desktop application and in the web browser.  I checked and I have the latest version of the desktop app as well.

Indeed, for most of my assignments, when I grade them, they get moved to the "Returned" list (which is equivalent to your "Graded" list in your second image).

When I l go to my assignments tab in the Team, I see in the "Assigned" list that W3R: Strategic and Self-Regulated Learners has 13 out of 14 that were graded/returned:

If I then click on the assignment to grade/return the last one, there are none to grade:

When I go back to my lists of assignments....the W3R: Strategic and Self-Regulated Learnersassignment disappears completely from both list (assigned and returned).  When I leave the assignments tab and return to it at later time....the process repeats itself.  W3R: Strategic and Self-Regulated Learnersis in the "Assigned" list with 13/14 returned.

I apologize for all the trouble it has caused and sorry about your time.

As per your description, I have tested from my side and after mark score and turn in I can see assignment in graded section. See I image below for your reference:

Regarding your situation, you may first go to Teams on the Web to check whether the Assignments can be displayed same behavior. For the desktop client, it's recommended that always keeping the latest version. You can click your profile > Check for updates to get the latest version of Teams.
