Fix: Update to latest Microsoft Teams version 1.4.00.12663
Summary: Remove Microsoft Teams.app & associated files and re-install via Microsoft Teams Site Repo
Steps:
- Closed the 'Microsoft Teams.app' via 'CMD+Q'
- Deleted 'Microsoft Teams.app' from '~/Applications/'
- Additionally Hazel.app removed all associated files
- Locate & delete 'Microsoft Teams Identities Cache' via 'Key Chain Access' [Found under 'Login']
- Open Finder and 'CMD + G': Go to Folder '~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft' then deleted 'Teams' folder
- Downloaded the latest version of Microsoft Teams for MacOS [File is 'Teams_osx.pkg' and is 108.8MB]
- Installed via the downloaded Teams Installer 'Teams_osx.pkg'
- The installer automatically opened the Microsoft Teams.app
- Went through the MS Teams authentication process [Password, MFA etc]
- MS Teams loaded with White screen for about 10 seconds, I made it fullscreen then it loaded [This is what I did, not necessarily what you need to do]
- Closed the Microsoft Teams app via CMD+Q
- Accepted all requests for permissions [Camera, Bluetooth, etc]
- App is loaded and working.
- Closed the app multiple times to test it. Checked the App version etc.
**App Version installed:**1.4.00.12663.
**MacOS X Version:**macOS Big Sur Version 11.4 (20F71)
Notes:
- My previous version of MS Teams was '1.3.00.26266'. This version is '1.4.00.12663'
- For whatever reason, the app did not auto-update from 1.3 to 1.4
- Checked the logs, the logs look good. Comparing to the previous logs it looks like the electron app got caught up on something, not technical enough to be able to debug it.
- Un-sure of the Root Cause but whatever. It's working now!
