Microsoft Teams desktop application doesn't update user attributes.

Hello, fellow ITs,

When i update a user attribute for example "Job Title" in Active Directory and then force delta sync with Azure AD Sync tool, the changed user attribute doesn't display in Teams desktop application. In web application and mobile application it updates without problem. The only way to update the user attribute is to force quit Teams desktop application and start it again.

Does anyone had the same issue? And if yes, how did you fixed it?

Is there anyway the synchronization goes fine and every user has the updated attributes, without force quitting Teams?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Leo and Marvin,

Thanks for the reply and the answer. I found a script which force quits Teams, clears it's cache and start Teams again, all this running silently in the background without interrupting the work of users. It will be deployed to end users via SCCM.

Best regards,

Stoyan

    Hi StoyanRahnev,

Based on your description, the user attribute is successfully synced to Azure AD since it displays correctly in Teams web application. This could be caused by the client cache in local. And the issue doesn't recur in web client since it syncs with the server all the time.

You may try to change the profile picture to check if it helps. Otherwise, you can only restart Teams to reload the user attribute since there's no option or button to refresh user information in Teams desktop client.

    Regards,

    Marvin
