Disabling auto-join

Even though i decline some group meetings, i still get all the messaging and my name still shows as having joined the meeting on screen (when i havent). Seems like the system auto-joins me even when declined the meeting! Does someone know how this can be changed in settings? It is very strange that other participants think i am in the meeting when i am not.

    Dear George

Yes, i declined the meeting (by options within Microsoft Outlook invite). This automatically removes the invitation/meeting from my calendar.

Yet still, my name shows in the meeting when first opened by the moderator.

I should add that this has happened not in meetings where just one or two others, but where there were large groups invited by "the company".

    Hi DEE,

Thank you for the input, my pleasure to assist you.

We would like to first confirm with you even if you declined the meeting at Teams, you still dragged to teams meeting? If you would clarify this, that will be great!

Yes, you cam ultimately delete it.  If your teams meeting has been scheduled before, that should be appeared on your outlook calendar and Teams calendar as well. Delete those entries and events on those calendar and see how it works.

If let's say you are forced to join the meeting when the organizer start a meeting right now without scheduled before even you declined it, you can share this with us.

Let me know the deleting calendar entries works, I will continue following you up!

    Yours Sincerely,

    George
