Microsoft Whiteboard sub menu appears while writing - can it be fixed?

Hi,

While writing on the Whiteboard software on a Sharp IWB from a Surface the small submenu that should appear when 'right clicking' appears repeatedly when I am trying to write. It deletes the letter I am writing and will momentarily disappear when I touch the screen again before coming back when I start to write. Sometimes I can achieve a word or two!

It strikes me as something to do with the software communicating with the board. I am running the connection through a Targus Display link via an HDMI cable.

Would anyone know if there are any settings I can adjust to improve this?

Many thanks,

Tim

    Hi Jenifer,

This is what my screen looks like. The photo is a screen shot from a video but i don’t seem to be able to upload it.

The menu that you can see repeatedly pops up when I’m trying to write on the board. It appears intermittently and unpredictably. As it appears the last pen stokes are also erased. It does it on another Sharp IWB with the same configuration as mine so i know it is something to do with the way the set up is configured rather than my particular board.

Is there a softwsre updste available as I’ve never seen a sub menu in the same place as in your pictures?

    regards,

    Tim

    Hi Tim,

It's OK, I will continue to monitor this thread, if you have any further concerns, plese feel free to post back at your earlist convenience.

By the way, if you are using Whiteboard in a team meeting in Microsoft Teams, based on my experience, you will always see the tool bar at the right of the window and you can click the button "" to show the options of the pen and click the button "" to close the pen tool (please see below pictures).

Given this situation, may I know whether this is your concerns? If not, could you please send screenshoots about "the sub menu happens when I change direction. If I write letters and numbers in a digital format the submenu doesn’t appear." to us for analysis?

    Regards,

    Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer,

Sorry for the delay, I am waiting to get hold of an HDMI to display port connector. However, while observing the behaviour of the pen on the whiteboard more closely the appearance of the sub menu happens when I change direction. If I write letters and numbers in a digital format the submenu doesn’t appear.

I’ll get back to you at the end of the week  when i get the cable.

    Yours sincerely,

    Tim
