    Hello Rajat ,

My name is Jackson and thank you for your question.

I sincerely apologize for the issue you experience with your Teams , I am a user myself and do not work for Microsoft so I understand how frustrating this is.

The mobile experience is slightly different from the desktop app as you only have the option to request time off in the Shifts app on the desktop. See details in the support link; https://support.microsoft.com/office/02cc8d31-80c6-4dbb-8124-4bd90ef70759

A manager can manage Shifts settings for your teams on Shifts web and desktop. In Shifts, go to Settings in the upper-left corner, If a setting is not available for you to change, that setting is controlled by your IT admin. Contact your IT admin for more info. See details to manage settings in Shifts; https://support.microsoft.com/office/1aef353d-e2df-4661-abdd-4014cb57f17b

    Warm regards,

    Jackson E

    Hello Rajat M,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. My name is Eunice and I'm happy to help.

I am sorry you are experiencing this problem. The availability feature for Shifts in Microsoft Teams is currently only available on the mobile app, and not on the desktop app.

However, there is a workaround to update your availability on the desktop version:

    1. Access the Teams web version: Go to and sign in with your account.
    2. Click on the "Shifts" icon: Located on the left sidebar, it looks like a clock.
    3. Click on "Update availability": You'll see this option next to your name and profile picture.
    4. Update your availability: Select your availability status and add any notes if needed.

This will update your availability for Shifts, and it will sync across all devices, including the desktop app.

Note that this workaround uses the web version, but it's a viable solution until the desktop app catches up with the mobile app's features!

Let me know if you need more help.

    Regards, Eunice
