How to automatically send an image in Teams using Power Automate/Workflows.

Hi All.

I'm trying to do something that I would have thought would be simple, but am having issues with.

Essentially, I want to automatically send an image in a teams channel/group chat, when someone in that channel/group chat posts a message with a specific keyword.

To help you visualise it, imagine I have a welcome banner that is a .png, and I set the keyword to "Hello". Whenever someone says "Hello", I want to send the welcome banner image, the same as if I manually click Plus -> Attach file - > ((select image))

I have enabled Power Automate/Workflows, and I can create a trigger that looks for a specifickeyword being posted in a specific channel/group chat, so the trigger appears to be sorted. I have also found the action(s) that allow me to post/reply to that message. However there is no option to send an image, only text or a link.

(I also tried hosting the image and sending the link of the image, hoping teams would automatically pull and display the image, but it does not).

I have a screenshot but this forum won't let me post it.

The trigger I'm using is the Teams "When keywords are mentioned" and the action I'm using is "Post message in a chat or channel". But there is no option to include and image as part of the message, and I am unable to find another action that will allow me to send an image.

Any assistance would be greately appreciated, as all I'm attempting to do is send an image when someone sends a message containing a keyword.

I sincerely apologize for the issue you experience with your Teams , I am a user myself and do not work for Microsoft so I understand how frustrating this is.

You can use Power Automate to set up a flow that sends messages to a Teams Channel or group chat using the Microsoft Teams connector, Image files are not recognized in the automated flow setup; https://learn.microsoft.com/power-automate/teams/send-a-message-in-teams

However find similar request in the post an a workaround of using sharepoint to store thumbnails provided by pictures. which will provide the URL you can send : https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/send-Image-on-team-through-power-automate/td-p/2038647
