Transcription limits for Teams Recordings, includes meetings set to record and transcribe?

Hi

I can see a reference to "Users with a Microsoft 365 subscription can transcribe a maximum of 300 minutes of uploaded audio per month".

I can see that there are options to upload audio and also to start recording.

Does this mean that the 300 minute limit only relates to meetings that were held without the transcription option activated? Or does the 300 minute limit include ALL transcripts, regardless where they originated?

Thank you!

Dear Jennifer,

Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist!

Based on your description regarding "Transcription limits for Teams Recordings, includes meetings set to record and transcribe?" The 300-minute transcription limit for Microsoft 365 subscriptions applies specifically to uploaded audio files. This means that if you upload audio files to be transcribed, you are limited to 300 minutes per month. Transcribe your recordings - Microsoft Support

However, this limit does not apply to live meeting transcriptions in Microsoft Teams. When you start a recording in a Teams meeting and enable transcription, it does not count towards the 300-minute limit. So, you can record and transcribe your Teams meetings without worrying about this specific limit. I hope the information helps! If there is any question or I misunderstand you, please feel free to let me know. I will continue to assist you. Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated. Have a nice day!
