Hi, have they tried to open it by Stream and then set to edit rights, then download.

For Teams recoding policies you can check on this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/meeting-recording?tabs=meeting-policy

    Dear Addys81,

Thank you for your follow-up message. I understand your concern about making Teams recordings accessible for everyone in your organization at all times.

Currently, the design of Microsoft Teams allows only the meeting organizer to download the recording, which does pose challenges in situations where the organizer is unavailable. Unfortunately, there isn’t a direct setting in the admin center to change this behavior for all users. Please refer to this article for your reference.

To address this limitation, I recommend sharing your feedback with Microsoft via our user feedback website: Microsoft Feedback Portal. This way, your request can be considered for future updates, as user feedback plays an important role in shaping product features.

In the meantime, you might want to encourage your meeting organizers to share the recordings promptly after meetings, or consider having a designated person as a backup organizer who can also access the recordings.

I appreciate your understanding and hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions or need further assistance!

    Best regards,

    Hello, thanks for your reply

This doesn't really solve the issue at all

The company want it so that ANYBODY can access and download the recording meeting at anytime

The problem is if someone records the meeting, and the organizer of the meeting has left for the day, the person that actually starts the recording can't access the recording at all till that person is back and shared the file.

that has to be a way where recorded meetings can be Shared to everyone to be able to download at any given time or some group policy

    Dear Addys81,

Thank you for reaching out! I'd be happy to help you with your query.

By default, Teams recordings are stored in OneDrive or SharePoint, and users can access them directly from there. To enable all users in your organization to download Teams recordings, you don't need to configure a specific setting in the Teams Admin Center.

Instead, you can simply adjust the sharing link settings for the recording file in OneDrive or SharePoint. To do this:

    • Go to the OneDrive or SharePoint location where the recording is stored.
    • Right-click on the recording file and select "Get link" or "Share".
    • In the sharing settings, change the link type to "People in your organization".
    • Make sure the "Allow editing" option is set to "can view" or "can edit", depending on your organization's requirements.
    • By setting the link type to "People in your organization" and share it in Teams, all users within your organization will be able to access and download the recording file.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Best regards,
