I am very well aware of https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/forum/all/how-to-send-voice-message-on-ms-teams-chat

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/forum/all/how-to-send-voice-message-on-ms-teams-chatButBut for me it's not just about an "exclusive mobile app feature". I am in fact a severily visually disabled person, and thus, I try to do as much as possible via voice. Not being able to make use of voice messages in MS teams feels like my physical disability is being embraced by MS teams. Since it is a company requirement to use MS teams, I am force to tollerate eye strain. Please consider enabling this feature for the desktop version, because it's not just for the lazy people, but also for those with actual severe disabilities. Consider it as an accessability feature instead. Make it available **everywhere**.

Solution 1 use the native Microsoft voice to text feature shortcut.

You can click into the Teams message field and then hold down the Windows key and then press the H key. You will then see a mic appear in the Teams search field, and it will say "initializing... you can then use your voice. It is not as good as a built in version would be, but it is better than using a 3rd party app.

    Solution 2

Keep Microsoft Word or a blank Outlook message open and use the voice to to text features built in to those apps. Then cut and past the message into teams.

    Dear Christian Parpart**,**

Good day!! Thank you for posting in Microsoft community.

I understand that you are looking for a way to send voice messages in Microsoft Teams for desktop. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Currently, as you are aware of that the voice message feature is only available on the mobile app version of Microsoft Teams.

Unfortunately, Microsoft Teams currently does not have a built-in dictation feature that allows users to type messages using their voice on the desktop version.

Microsoft has received feedback from users requesting the ability to use dictation in Teams chats. However, I will definitely pass on your feedback to our product team as a suggestion for future updates.

    Workaround:

While there are ways to use speech-to-text functionality with Microsoft Teams, such as using a Google Chrome extension like Voice In or using speech recognition features on your operating system, to do that follow this article: Use voice typing to talk instead of type on your PC - Microsoft Support.

These are not native to the Microsoft Teams application.

Additionally, you may want to consider providing direct feedback to the Microsoft product teams responsible for Teams.

As we are from community team, we can only assist you to troubleshoot the query and providing you required information for feature’s availability status.

This community team and Microsoft product development team are separate.

So, for feature’s suggestion or by design query, user need to submit feedback from their side to Microsoft product team.

Once user send feedback via above mentioned way, it’s sent to Microsoft directly and it's routed to the relevant product teams who can review it.

If you didn’t submit feedback from your side, suggested to submit your valuable feedback directly to Microsoft product development team by either go to Help from your dedicated App > submit Feedback or by posting on Ideas · Community (microsoft.com).

I again apologize for this inconvenience; we appreciate your feedback and will ensure that it is passed on to our development team for further review.

It was pleasure working with you on this issue, if you think I have provided the required information related to your post, you can also vote on it.

    Appreciate your patience with us.

Looking forward to your response and have a great day ahead!!

    Sincerely

S M Nazmun Nur | Microsoft Community Moderator
