If I record a Teams meeting that includes someone outside of my organization, does that individual outside of my organization have access to the recording?

We record meetings with individuals outside of our organization. They are aware the meeting is being recorded. Is there a way to prevent them from having access to the recording when the meeting is complete?

Dear Diane,

Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist!

Based on your description regarding "If I record a Teams meeting that includes someone outside of my organization, does that individual outside of my organization have access to the recording?". Kindly note that when you record a Teams meeting that includes someone outside of your organization, the recording is typically stored in OneDrive or SharePoint. By default, external participants do not automatically get access to the recording. Guests and external attendees can view the recording only if it's explicitly shared with them.

For extra reference kindly see Teams meeting recording storage and permissions in OneDrive and SharePoint - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

I hope the information helps! If there is any question or I misunderstand you, please feel free to let me know. I will continue to assist you. Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated. Have a nice day!

Best regards,
