Teams Planner Tasks Comments

Hello,

We started using the teams planner tasks comments. Looks great but I have an issue.

We apply a exchange rule for external communication. It looks like the exchange rule is applying when task comments are made from an external user.

Is there a way to prevent this?

    Hi Connery,

    Thanks for you reply.

It is correct that the user is a guest user and he can add a comment. As expected.

I didn't expect our exchange transport rule is applied when adding a comment.

I will Check the planner forum.

    Dear Pepijn Deneut1,

    Greetings!

Thanks for reaching out to this community.

Based on your description, I understand your issue with Teams Planner Tasks Comments.

May I please double-confirm whether you've added these external users to your organization as guests? According to Guest access in Microsoft 365 groups and Guest access in Microsoft Planner - Microsoft Support, guest user members can Comment on a task.

As you mentioned it seems "the exchange rule is applying when task comments are made from an external user", you can try to modify your existing Exchange rule to exclude Planner task comments. This might involve adding specific conditions or exceptions that recognize Planner comments and prevent the rule from being applied to them. For more information, please kindly refer to Mail flow rule conditions and exceptions (predicates) in Exchange Online | Microsoft Learn.

Meanwhile, if you have any further concerns upon this issue, you may also try to post your query on our dedicated forum at Planner - Microsoft Community Hub.

Thank you in advance for your understanding! Your patience and cooperation will be greatly appreciated. I hope all the best!
