Teams Caching Issue: Launching Canvas App From Teams Tab

Hi Folks,

Got a strange one for you today.....

Using the Teams Desktop Client, we are launching a canvas app within a Teams Tab. This works great, until the Canvas App is updated, and then none of the updates are available within the launched app. (Even is teams is closed and reopened - however clearing the Teams Cache appears to resolve the problem. This in its self is a fine resolution if the end users had access to their C:\, which in this instance they don't)

Launching the app via a browser, either within Teams or directly through PowerApps in an in private browsing session seems to work perfectly.

Anyone got any ideas how to resolve the teams caching issue, without clearing the cache?

    Hi @Michael Clark ,

    Do you mean this issue occurs after you updating canvas app?

    Do you mean you want to change the ways of clearing client cache file?

    As a workaround, you could try to uninstall Teams client and reinstall it to see if it works for you.

    At the moment, Microsoft does not have a way to clear the local cache in Microsoft Teams client. On the Microsoft Teams UserVoice, users have requested an option to clear the cache on Microsoft Teams from within the graphical user interface (GUI). If it meets your requirements, you could vote for it here. Microsoft will always focus on customer’s feedback and experience, some new features would be added to the services based on customers' feedback in the future, and your good ideas will be very helpful for them to improve the service.

    We have the same problem. Tabs stay empty because we did some changes. Clicking on the refresh icon does not help. Any solution?
