Changing or updating the email address or phone number associated with your Microsoft account is simple.

1. Sign in to your account at Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
2. Select either Add email or Add phone number and it will walk you through the steps of verifying and adding your contact information to your account.
3. By selecting Make primary, you can make the new email or phone number the primary alias.
4. You will then have the option to remove the old email address or phone number.

Note: To prevent people from searching for you in Microsoft Teams (free) using your previous email address or phone number, you must remove it from your account. Remember that you cannot delete a primary alias without another email address or phone number in your account, so add the new alias before deleting the previous one.

5. To ensure that your modifications to Microsoft Teams (free) are reflected on your mobile device, uninstall the app and reinstall it from the Google Play Store https://aka.ms/androidteams or the Apple App Store. https://aka.ms/iosteams
6. After reinstalling the app, enroll in to Microsoft Teams (for free) with your new email address or phone number.

Hello Sarah, this is Emily.

I see you put down Teams for business as your question's category, I assume you are actually referring to a business account here, not your personal Microsoft account? If that's the case, the previous answer provided by the Independent advisor is not what you are looking for.

If this is indeed for a business account, go here instead: My Sign-Ins | Security Info | Microsoft.com Sign in with your business account's credential. On that page, you should be able to change your phone number. If for any reason it won't let you, it means your organization IT has restricted it. In that case, you have to contact your IT department and they can change it via the admin portal for you, or they can reset your mutli-factor settings in the admin portal, and then you just need to go back to https://login.microsoft.com sign in, and it will prompt you to set up your multi-factor contact information again.
