How to cancel a Teams Meeting that has already been created.

I've created a Teams meeting and invited people. I need to delete the meeting - or cancel the meeting. I see no obvious way to accomplish this.

EDIT: I found how to cancel the meeting. Open the Teams calendar, double click the meeting you want to cancel - when the dialog pops up you'll see a button that says "Cancel" meeting at the upper left. There's an optional text box to state your reason for cancelling (presumably sent out to the others slated for that meeting).

Hi, we're seeing a glitch where the cancelled meeting is still sitting in people's calendar and therefore they are still joining. It is causing problems as the meeting is set to automatically record so then everyone in the organisation is seeing notifications that the meeting has started when it should in fact be cancelled. Can you please advise

Greetings! I am Ajibola, and I am eager to assist you with confidence and assertiveness. I guarantee to provide you with exceptional support.

To cancel a Teams Meeting that you organized, you can follow these steps:

    • Open Microsoft Teams and go to the Calendar or Meetings tab from the navigation menu on the left.

    • Find the meeting that you want to cancel and click on it. A short options menu will pop up.

    • Click on the Edit button. The meeting details screen will open.

    • Click on the Cancel Meeting button towards the top left corner. A confirmation prompt will appear.

    • You can add a cancellation note for the meeting attendees, but it's optional. Click on the Cancel Meeting button again to confirm.

    • This will delete the meeting from your calendar and notify the meeting attendees of the cancellation.

If you want to cancel a Teams Meeting that someone else organized, you can only decline the meeting invitation and remove it from your calendar. You cannot cancel the meeting for other attendees or the organizer. To decline a Teams Meeting invitation, you can follow these steps:

    • Open Microsoft Teams and go to the Calendar or Meetings tab from the navigation menu on the left.

    • Find the meeting that you want to decline and click on it. A short options menu will pop up.

    • Click on the RSVP button and select Decline from the drop-down menu. A confirmation prompt will appear.

    • You can add a decline note for the meeting organizer, but it's optional. Click on the Decline button to confirm.

Me too. I am trying to reset one occurrence of a recurring meeting but only see an option to cancel the entire meeting series.

What if the Teams meeting is recurring, and you want to cancel/change a single occurrence instead of the whole series? I do not see this option (to choose to cancel occurrence or cancel series) within Teams, like is traditional within Outlook.

I have declined a series of meetings but they are still showing up in my calendar. They are prefaced with the word Declined, but I can't make them go away.
