Office apps demand login when I launch them

Hi all,

I just finished a fresh Windows 10 install, along with Office 365. All went well; however, when I tried opening an Office app (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) a dialog opens up requesting that I log in.

This new install is independent I just want the user to launch the Office apps without having to log in, as it was in the previous install (which suffered a disk crash, hence the new install).

How do I bypass this login request?

If this is a one-time request to finish up the installation then I am OK with that. Thanks!!

I've included an image of the dialog when I tried to launch PowerPoint.

PS: What is it with these tags? I tried Office-365: tag does not exist, Microsoft-365: tag does not exist, Microsoft-365-general: tag does not exist. Finally I selected the only tag that came up when I entered Microsoft-365. Sorry if way off.

Update. I found that WPA (Web Progressive Apps) for Word, Excel and other Office apps were installed. These run inside the MS Edge browser. To use the Windows apps, I removed the WPA apps and copied the app entries from the app list to the start up menu.

Now I am running the Windows apps, but when not signed in, the apps lose their license and report that I am using an unlicensed product, even if I already activated it. This goes away when I reactivate them, but again, I must be signed in. Once I sign out, they revert to their unlicensed state.

What can I do to avoid this, without signing in? Also, what to do if I do not have Internet access? Thanks! Saga
