I have 3 accounts currently, but only want 1 account to send me notifications on my android phone. Currently I only seem to be able to turn on notifications for Teams in general, so all 3 accounts, which means my phone is constantly pinging and I don't want that.

So Samsung does not allow cloning of Team - something about interference between Samsung and Microsoft

I've tried Secure folder but haven't quite figured it out

For now, I've just signed out of the other 2 apps but considering using a 3rd party cloning app

    Dear Karena de Souza,

Thank you for contacting us regarding notification management in the Microsoft Teams app on Android. We understand that receiving alerts from multiple accounts can be disruptive and negatively impact your user experience.

Currently, the Microsoft Teams app on Android does not support enabling notifications for individual accounts. All notification settings apply universally to all signed-in accounts. However, you can try the following methods to receive notifications from only one desired account:

Method 1: Use App Cloning (Dual Apps)

Step 1: Check if your phone supports app cloning (e.g., Samsung: Dual Messenger, Xiaomi: Dual Apps, etc.).

Step 2: Go to Settings > Advanced Features > Dual Messenger (or equivalent depending on your device) and select Microsoft Teams to create a cloned version of the app.

    Step 3:

    • Log in to the account you want to receive notifications from in the original Teams app.
    • Log in to the other two accounts in the cloned Teams app.

Step 4: Go to Settings > Apps > Teams (cloned version) and turn off notifications for this app.

Result: You will only receive notifications from the original Teams app (with your preferred account), while the cloned app will remain silent.

Method 2: Use Android Work Profile

Step 1: Check if your device supports Work Profile (commonly available on enterprise Android devices or those with device management settings).

    Step 2:

    • Place the account you want notifications from in your main profile.
    • Place the other accounts in the Work Profile.

Step 3: When you don’t want notifications from the secondary accounts, pause the Work Profile by pulling down the notification shade and selecting “Turn off Work Profile.”

Note: When Work Profile is turned off, you won’t receive notifications from any apps in that profile (not just Teams).

Method 3: Sign Out of Unwanted Accounts

Step 1: Open the Teams app.

Step 2: Go to Settings > Accounts > Manage Accounts and sign out of the two accounts you don’t want notifications from.

Step 3: Keep only the account you want notifications from signed in.

Note: This method is simple but not ideal if you need quick access to other accounts.

    Additional Tips

    • In the Teams app, go to Settings > Notifications to disable unnecessary notification types like reactions or emojis.
    • Enable the option “Mute notifications on mobile when active on desktop” to reduce duplicate alerts.
    • Use Android’s “Do Not Disturb” mode to limit notifications outside of working hours.

If you have any updates after trying the above methods, or if these solutions don’t work for you, or if you have any other questions, please feel free to share them with me. I’m happy to assist further and help you find the most suitable solution.

    Best regards,
