Teams webinar: no Q&A for attendees on mobile?

Hello, I have a question about Teams webinar:

I saw that attendees cannot see or access the Q&A on mobile. It works perfectly on a browser, for non-organisation attendees. Why doesnt it work on mobile? Only the chat is visible on mobile and I don't want to use chat because we have over 2600 registrations already, the chat alone will get too messy. I toggled 'yes' to anonymous questions so that is not the problem.

Thank you!

    Hi Els,

Thank you for reaching out. My name is Furkaan, a user just like you. I’d be happy to help you with your concerns. You're right, there's a current limitation with Teams webinars where the Q&A feature isn't accessible for attendees on the mobile app. It only works for those joining via the Teams desktop application or a web browser on a computer. Here's why this might be happening:

Limited Mobile App Functionality: The mobile app prioritises core functionalities like joining the audio/video feed and viewing presentations. Q&A, being a more interactive element, might require additional resources that the app can't handle as efficiently.

Potential Development Focus: Microsoft might be focusing development efforts on the core Teams experience for mobile and web interfaces. Q&A for mobile could be planned for a future update.

Here are some alternative solutions you can consider:

Encourage Desktop/Web Participation: If possible, encourage attendees to join the webinar through the Teams desktop application or a web browser for a more feature-rich experience, including Q&A.

Utilise Chat with Moderation: While chat can get messy with a large number of attendees, you can manage it with the help of moderators. Assign people to monitor the chat, answer common questions, and remove irrelevant messages.

Pre-Submitted Questions: If the Q&A is for specific topics, consider allowing attendees to submit questions beforehand through a form or a separate Teams channel. This can help streamline the live session.
