I have been building a teams deployed AI assistant with Copilot studio. I have a frustrating problem. It's throwing this error. "An error has occurred. Dear rt24_ww,

Good day to you and thanks for your post in Microsoft Community. I'm sorry for the inconvenience you've encountered.

After my investigation, I just give few tips below:

    1. Switch to Classic Orchestration - Orchestrate agent behavior with generative AI - Microsoft Copilot Studio | Microsoft Learn
      • Go to Copilot Studio → Settings → Generative AI.
      • Turn “Use generative AI orchestration” to No
    2. Disable Conversational Boosting or Generative Answers - Knowledge sources overview - Microsoft Copilot Studio | Microsoft Learn

But after testing, disabling AI seems to fix the issue but comes with a huge tradeoff.

Because this issue is beyond community-level support, please refer to this document Find community help and support - Microsoft Copilot Studio | Microsoft Learn for additional assistance.

Or you can create ticket once more time in Microsoft Power Platform Community Forum Thread. In this community has experts will be able to answer your questions effectively and accurately.

Thank you for your kindness and understanding! Wishing you a wonderful day.

    Best regards,

    Hi @Daniel-Vo,

Could you also please send the workaround to me? I have been facing the same issue, and it has been a pain. It renders what we have built in Copilot Studio useless because of this.

Some steps we have already done to resolve:

    1. Confirm we have enough message capacity in Copilot Studio
    2. Confirm that there is NO error in a current flow or topic in the agent.

    Dear Ian Mutuma,

Good day to you and thanks for your post in Microsoft Community. I'm sorry for the inconvenience you've encountered. Regarding your question, I'd like to provide the following clarification:

    • This error comes from the Responsible AI filters within Copilot that block content deemed potentially unsafe or sensitive. In the reference FAQ for generative orchestration - Microsoft Copilot Studio | Microsoft Learn, you can know why does the issue occur:
      • This often occurs when generative orchestration is enabled—Copilot dynamically selects which topics, knowledge sources, or tools to use. The Responsible AI service intervenes if it senses risky content or unusual prompts.
      • Many users have experienced this “even on benign prompts like 'hello'” when generative orchestration is active.

I look forward to your information and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me - I’ll be happy to assist you. Wishing you a wonderful day.

    Best regards,

Daniel Vo - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist.
