how do we add external user in sharepoint

Question

I have few questions, please clairfy:

1. What we need to do access one of the SharePoint online site for the external user? ex: external user will be gmail account
2. where we need to this external account in azure active directory or SharePoint online permissions area? I tried to add in SharePoint online permissions area but it is not reflecting. Please help
3. And while accepting the invitation received to gmail, which account I need to user office 365 account or gmail account?

Note: even user is added in the guest users from azure AD, user is not reflecting in the SharePoint.

Hi @sns ,

Please following steps:

1.Sign in the Microsoft 365 admin center as SharePoint administrator or Global administrator, click on Users >> Guest users >> Add a guest user

2.The page redirects to Microsoft Azure, select Invite user option and add the external user information.

3.Sign in to the SharePoint admin center as SharePoint administrator or Global administrator to enable External sharing for the specific SharePoint site.

4.Go to the specific SharePoint site,click gear icon >> Site permissions >> Advanced permissions settings

5.On the Site Permissions page, click on Grant Permissions to the external user.
