user unable to upload files in teams

I have a user who, after changing their SAM account name locally in a hybrid environment, can no longer upload files in teams chats. The error he receives is simply "something went wrong while sharing. Let's try again". The user was able to log into their onedrive and can chat normally in teams. They logged into the teams web application and they get the same error there. I'm guessing this is a permission issue of some kind but I can't find any real info on this issue. I ran the self-diagnostic tool in the admin center and it claimed there were no found issues with the user account.

Hello there, this is Suganya. I'm happy to assist you.

It sounds like the issue with the user not being able to upload files in Teams chats may be related to the change in their SAM account name locally. This can sometimes cause issues with permissions and access to resources.

You can try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Ensure that the user has the necessary permissions to upload files in Teams. You can check this by going to the Microsoft Teams admin center and checking the user's roles and permissions.

Manage teams in the Microsoft Teams admin center: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteam...

    1. Sometimes resetting the user's password can help resolve authentication issues that may be causing the problem.

Change your Microsoft account password: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-bil...

    1. Teams uses SharePoint Online to store files shared in chats, so it's possible that there may be an issue with the user's SharePoint Online permissions. Check the user's permissions in SharePoint Online to make sure they have the necessary access.

I hope this helps you to resolve the issue. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Thank you!

    Regards

    Suganya

The issue did end up being solved with a second password change by the user and a bit of time.

Now I'm facing the same problem. Did you change everyone's password? or only the problematic account And after changing the code, how long do I have to wait?

We only changed the password of the problem account. It took a few days for the problems to go away though so it may not have been the password reset that did it, but that is the only change we made.
