Can I as the organizer of a Teams webinar assign the presenter also to be a co-organizer? Can the presenter have two roles?

Meetings in Teams include audio, video, and screen sharing for up to 1,000 people and view-only capabilities for participants over 1,000. Participants don't need to be a member of an organization (or have a Teams account) to join a Teams meeting.

    Great thank you.

Another question. When registered attendees are joining the webinar do they have to have a Teams account? Can you provide me with instructions/guidance on how to join the webinar text that I can add to the webinar invitation, for those who don’t have a Teams account? Thank you.

This may depend on your organization's settings and policies. In general, it is possible to modify the roles assigned to participants during and after the creation of a Teams meeting or webinar. However, if there are any specific restrictions or limitations in place, it may not be possible to add additional roles after the fact. I would recommend checking with your organization's Teams admin to help you out.

Thank you for your prompt reply. So even if the webinar was created a month ago, I can still add the presenter as a co-organizer?

    Kind regards

    Alexandra

Hello Alexandra, My name is Indhurani, I’ll be happy to help you today.

Yes, in a Teams webinar, as the organizer, you can assign the presenter to also be a co-organizer. In fact, the co-organizer role can be assigned to any participant, and they will be displayed as additional organizers in the meeting participant list and will have most of the capabilities of the meeting organizer.

This includes the ability to manage participants, share content, and control various meeting settings.

However, note that promoting someone to a presenter role during the meeting does not automatically assign them as a co-organizer. The co-organizer role needs to be assigned separately from the presenter role.

Hope it helps you. Please let me know if you still need further assistance.

    Regards,

    Indhurani
